Cell Phone Company all over South Sudan Except Lou

Guys.

I am very sadden to learn today that the Zian Cell Phone Company is all over South Sudan From Malakal to Nasir upto Fagak or Maiwut Eastern Jikany Nuer, while all the Lou Nuer Counties are still in dark view, no electric, no communication, and no sign of any sort of development.

What exactly are our people doing from John Luk , Gat Dok all the way to counties commissioners and all other local workers? What kind of development are our people waiting to bring home any way?

Are we the people who needs the development going to sit idle like this, or do we need to cordinate some sort of rally or demonstration through writting a strong petition to the GoSS in regard to low development in our society?

Very important question Yul, but when we analyzed this closely, we can see that those phone companies are motivated by huge profit that they could get if they can extent their services into those areas. The first thing a business person put in mind is “Security” any company that is operating out there view Lou Nuer land as a hostile environment regardless of the security issue being the South Sudan problem as a whole. All businesses are driven by their gut feeling regardless of what the government official tells them.

Is there anything to do about this? Do we have any business minded intellectuals within the GOSS/GONU that can lobbies for the Lou Nuer areas? If there are; they must be few. I understand you gut feeling Yuldit, it can be a mind rankling to see our people being pass by the peace dividend that suppose to be enjoyed by all.

I personally propose that we petition a letter to Lou Nuer Council president and the high ranking Lou official so they can select a group if not them to lobby on behave of Lou community. The businesses need to be told about the potential in Lou Nuer land, the friendly environment that they would do business in and most importantly; their life would be secure under Lou Nuer protection.

YES SIMON YOU'RE RIGHT WE REALLY NEED THE SECURITY IN OUR AREA, BUT I PERSONALLY DO NOT BELIEVE THE PROBLEM IS ALL ABOUT INSECURITY. I THINK THE LACK OF MOTIVATION WITHIN LOU LEADERS IS MOSTLY CONTRIBUTES.

Dear all,
thank yuldit for bringing up this topic. Development will never come to the Lou Nuer areas. There seem to be the top leaders who sit above everything down there. Teachers, Health workers, and all people who can help the counties are there working with NGOs or emploed by other regions, counties. Our leaders vision is not to develop the Lou Nuer area, but to benefit on behave of the name Lou Nuer. They don't have any vision at all rather to help young qualify Lou Nuer to come or send the team of the foreign nations to work with those commissioners. If you happened to be there, you can only see that their focus is on who will be the next commisoner or so.

Lou Nuer areas will remain as bush as it will be. No development for sure in the counties. No road while the whole south has road connections.

Thank you Peter Reat for all the details. Its very true that there are leaders who sits on top right there but never take a moment to thing about what to do in Lou. You are also correct by mentioning that those leader's thought is all about who will be the next commisioner. They love the leadership without a single project in minds.

Moses Walhok, you asked aquestion of what we want to do? Well, in my opinion, we can write a petition letter to the GOSS as a form of demonstration, and explain in detail that we need a change of leadership in our counties. We need people who will do the work, not the one to go there and sit without doing anything, and do not permit others to do what is needed to be done.

This petition can be signed by all of us and send to the governement. I believe there should be a result to that unless if we are not serious about it.

Long time without commenting on any topic, since then.
I have been busy for school finals.
Back to the topic, you guys had said it all but would not blame our leaders harder even though they may have some weakness. What I can see is an insecurity which hit Lou-Nuer area since the signing of CPA. NGOs don't like to operate where they feel insecure. And that fact also contributed onto the lack of Lou-Nuer not to develop like the rest, not all blame to Lou-Nuer politicians. What Lou-Nuer politician can do and must do is to provide an adequate police forces and resources so that they can provide security to those who try bring development to Lou-Nuer land.

Peter Wiyual. The reason we tend to blame everything on our politicians is because the insecurity in the South is not only bad in Lou area alone. the whole country is suffered the insecurity. AK-47 can be find anywhere, and people also killed themselves in every society. There for, all other politicians in other societies are working hard to diminish an insecurity in their societies and at the same time struggling to bring developments along with security.

Let me give you few examples here: In Jonglei State, the person in charge of county Commisioneries is one of our politicians. He is sitting there and we have never heard anything from him. He is supposed to evaluate the work of commisioneries and encourage them with counties developments and all other things they should do. He should terminate or write up those who doesn't do the job,you know what ah meant!

Another one is the minister of communication, he is also our politician, but he never visit any of our counties or discuss anything about bringing telecommunication in our areas. I heard, he provide communication services in some other areas within Jonglei, but not in Lou, Why?


Our problem is not the insecurity but the politicians themselves. An insecurity is caused by people, and the same people like the ones who created the insecurity should take the action to stop that insecurity. We are talking about insecurity but if no one is taking care of it, it will never get away by itself, you knoe what am sayin?

The authority of our society is in the hands of our politicians, we can talk, cry and curse, but if they do not take any action, nothing will change at all, but all the bad things going on in our society will continue unless someone else get in their positions.

Thanks Yuldit for coming up with this Idea.it is really sad to and painfull to our community which still look like abush.If Iam not wrong is the whole south sudan the only community remain behind in term of development is Greator Lou,that is Akobo ,Nyirol and Uror.And in really sense we have big people who are holding big position in the Government.And interm of Wealth we have oil in somany plcaes which can attract companies interm of getting some thing in return.Our people are selfish ,the only thing they want is to get for them self which is nothing.If Iam talking of our people I mean the politicians who can talk in behave of our community.but they are just there workingto pleased other people that they are hard working.As a say goes! Charity begain at home but to my suprise to our politician they begine charity outside which cann't help our pple but help themselves.Iam if pple are elected for their work according to their Community politician will not be elected base on their.Since they know the election is coming they will just try by all mean to mess up thing and leave our Community in Biase and in shit.
But I hpoe in a new geretion to come up will have changes because Iam sure the people who are now leading won't maintant their sits unless some is done well and who did what?nothing
